Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Podar Pearl School, Al Meshaf on September 3rd, 2024. The event was organized to honor and appreciate the hard work and dedication of our teachers. The celebration featured various activities led by the students, showcasing their creativity and respect for their educators.
Objectives:
· Self-Expression
· They practice structuring sentences, choosing appropriate words, and conveying clear messages.
· To communicate their appreciation, enhancing their creative and critical thinking skills.
· Help students to develop their fine motor skills
· In group activities, such as making a large poster, students work together,
Participants:
All students from grades 1 & 2 enthusiastically took part in the group activity.
Event Highlights:
Grade 1 Greeting Cards: The students of Grade 1 participated in a heartwarming activity where they created personalized greeting cards for their teachers. Each card was a unique expression of gratitude and admiration. The young students used colorful drawings, stickers, and heartfelt messages to convey their appreciation. These cards were collected and displayed prominently in the classrooms for all to see, bringing smiles to both students and teachers.
Grade 2 Group Activity: The children of Grade 2 engaged in a collaborative group activity designed to foster teamwork and creativity. The students worked together to create a large, decorative poster that featured:
o Handwritten Lines for Teachers: Each student contributed lines of appreciation and thanks to the teachers, which were written in their own words. The lines were thoughtful and expressed how much the teachers mean to them.
o Photo of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan: At the center of the poster a prominent photo of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the celebrated educator and former President of India, whose birthday is observed as Teachers’ Day was displayed. This central placement highlighted the historical significance of the day and paid tribute to his contributions to education.
Conclusion:
The Teachers’ Day celebration at Podar Pearl School was a resounding success, characterized by the heartfelt efforts of our young students. The greeting cards from Grade 1 and the collaborative poster from Grade 2 were wonderful expressions of gratitude and respect. The inclusion of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s photo served as a meaningful reminder of the significance of the day. Overall, the event highlighted the importance of teachers and strengthened the bond between students and educators.
