The students of Grade VIII at Pearl School, Al Dafna, Qatar, conducted a well-coordinated Labour Day assembly on May 1, 2025, from 7:10 to 7:45 AM at the Block D stage, attended by students from Grades V to VIII. The event began with Islamic and school prayers, followed by meaningful reflections including the vision, mission, thought for the day, and word of the day. A powerful speech on Labour Day was delivered by Abigail, highlighting the significance of workers in society. The program featured a skit performed by Harshita, Jessica, Tanisha and Aarav, along with captivating dance and special performances by the students. Primary students added a vibrant and educational touch by dressing up as various types of labourers and briefly speaking about their roles. The school also took the opportunity to honour its supporting staff for their invaluable contributions. The Headmistress, Ms. Zemina, appreciated and congratulated the class teachers, Ms. Aswathi and Ms. Muhammadal, for organizing a meaningful and well-executed assembly. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and the national anthem led by Mr. Javed.
Additionally, students from Classes I to VIII engaged in tool-making activities during their school activity period, showcasing creative models of tools commonly used by labourers. These models demonstrated the students’ understanding of and respect for the hard work and dedication of labourers. A soft board decoration competition was also conducted in connection with the occasion, further enriching the celebration and promoting awareness and appreciation for the contributions of workers in everyday life.
