Stress Busters and Success Starters Workshop for Grade 3 & 4
The session, titled “Stress Busters and Success Starters” for grade 3 and 4 students, was conducted at Pearl School Al Thumama Campus by the School Counsellor, Ms Hiba Thahseen. The session focused on stress management and preparing for exams with confidence as the students approach their half-yearly exams. The core theme used the concept of “superpowers” to make the content relatable and empowering for the young students.
The session successfully explained stress in an age-appropriate manner, helping students understand and identify the physical and emotional signs of feeling worried. Stress was introduced using the relatable analogy of “What’s in Your Backpack?” where it was presented as a “heavy feeling” caused by various “stressors”. Students actively participated in the interactive activities to recognize their unique stress triggers. The session provided students with practical tools for success and stress reduction. Proactive study skills were introduced as the “My Super Study Plan,” emphasizing three key strategies: Start Early, Break It Down, and Review Daily.
The second half of the session focused on three essential coping mechanisms, framed as “secret superpowers”: practicing belly breathing, moving your body, and talking to a grown up.
The session was highly successful and engaging, equipping the students with simple, actionable tools to build confidence and manage their worries. This initiative directly supports the school’s mission for students to be resilient and future ready and its vision to develop a purposeful and resilient institution.
