GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATION

Gandhi Jayanti is an event celebrated in India to mark the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. It is celebrated annually on 2 October. The UN General Assembly announced on 15 June 2007 that it adopted a resolution which declared that 2 October will be celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence as he was a non-violent freedom fighter.

The celebrations for Gandhi Jayanti started welcoming all the teachers and students explained the significance of the day. The program began with school prayer followed by Islamic prayer. Ms. Puja conveyed the message of “Swachhata Hi Seva” mission. Swachhata Hi Seva campaign is being celebrated from 15th September to 2nd October. She encouraged students to keep surrounding clean.

Video based on Gandhiji’s life was shown to inspire students. Ms. Sana narrated a real time story from Gandhiji’s life. Students were amazed after listening to the wonderful story. A small quiz was played based on video and small token of appreciation was given to students. One student was dressed up as Gandhi to give real time feel to students. Program was ended with national anthem.
