The inaugural meeting of the Gavel Club took place on the 19th of October, marking a significant event for our institution’s budding speakers and leaders. The session, attended by students and mentors, provided an inspiring start to the club’s journey toward fostering public speaking and leadership skills.

The meeting opened with an Orientation and Youth Leadership Program (YLP) Introduction by TM Kavithaa Rameshbabu. This session highlighted the structure and benefits of the program, setting a motivational tone and explaining the essential objectives of the Gavel Club.

Following the orientation, the Headmistress, Ms. Zemina Sulfikkar, delivered the Presidential Address. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of effective communication, not only as a tool for personal growth but also as a means to create positive impacts in society. She encouraged students to take advantage of this platform to develop their oratory skills and confidence.

A key highlight of the event was the Speech Demonstration presented by Nritha Neshikumar and Aditi Pillai. Their performance showcased practical examples of effective speech techniques and provided the audience with a tangible experience of Gavel Club principles in action.

The session was moderated by TM Salma Husain, who serves as the Gavel Club Coordinator. Her role ensured the smooth flow of activities and provided guidance to participants, making the event both enjoyable and informative.

The Gavel Club’s inaugural meeting concluded on a high note, inspiring attendees with Mark Twain’s quote, “The right word may be effective, but no word was ever as effective as a rightly timed pause.” This event has laid a strong foundation for future sessions, with students excited to develop their speaking and leadership skills under the guidance of the club coordinators and mentors.
