Introduction to the First Aid Activity
The First Aid Activity was conducted for students of Grades 3 to 5 at Podar Pearl School. The goal was simple yet meaningful — to help children understand the importance of first aid in daily life. Through a creative, hands-on learning session, students discovered how first aid plays a vital role in safety and care.
Learning Through Creativity
During the First Aid Activity, students crafted simple first aid materials using coloured and tissue papers. They designed mini items such as band-aids, gauze pads, gloves, ointment tubes, and antiseptic bottles. By assembling these into their own miniature first aid kits, children learned not only about each item’s use but also about teamwork and precision.
This engaging approach encouraged creativity while developing fine motor skills. In addition, it helped students connect art with awareness — a fun yet educational blend that made learning memorable.
Building Awareness and Responsibility
Beyond crafting, the First Aid Activity instilled key values such as safety, hygiene, and responsibility. Students learned that knowing basic first aid can make a big difference in emergencies. Moreover, it encouraged them to care for themselves and others, creating a sense of empathy and community.
The session also aligned with the school’s mission to nurture independent and responsible learners. It reflected the Round Square Ideals of Learning, Responsibility, and Service — promoting a culture of compassion and active citizenship.
Student Participation and Impact
Students participated enthusiastically throughout the First Aid Activity. Their focus, teamwork, and creativity were evident in every step of the process. Teachers observed how confidently students shared their understanding of health care basics.
Furthermore, this initiative reinforced Qatar’s values of care and community well-being, inspiring young learners to be more prepared and responsible in real-life situations. Through this interactive experience, students realized that even small acts of care can make a big difference.
