Pearl School, Al Dafna Campus, proudly celebrated English Language Day & World Book Day. The event also marked the birth anniversary of William Shakespeare, making it a meaningful celebration of language, literature, and creativity. The aim was to enhance students’ language skills, encourage reading habits, and promote creative expression.

Students actively participated in engaging activities across grades. Grade 3 students took part in a Spelling Bee Competition that strengthened vocabulary skills. Grades 4 and 5 enjoyed a Poetry Jam, where they expressed creativity through rhythm and performance. Meanwhile, Grades 6 to 8 participated in a Micro Fiction Contest, writing short stories that improved clarity and imagination.

One of the key highlights was the Shakespearean Café, where the school transformed into a Renaissance-themed space. Students dressed as famous literary characters such as Shakespeare, Hamlet, Macbeth, Cleopatra, and Othello, bringing literature to life in a fun and interactive way.

Additionally, students watched an informative video on William Shakespeare and his contribution to the English language. A Shakespeare Quiz for Grades 4 to 8 further strengthened their understanding in an enjoyable way.

As part of English Language Day & World Book Day, the school also conducted a Reading Hour in line with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar. Students read books silently and discussed ideas in class, which helped develop critical thinking and a reading habit.

The school library supported the event with a wide range of books, encouraging students to explore different genres and languages.

Overall, the celebration was a great success. It combined learning with creativity and inspired students to appreciate the power of language and literature.
