On 2nd of October 2024, Pearl School Al Thumama celebrated the Gandhi Jayanti Special Assembly to honor the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation.
The Assembly began with a serene atmosphere where students and teachers gathered to pay tribute to Gandhi’s teachings of peace, non-violence, and truth. The highlight of the assembly was the participation of Grade 1 students dressed up as Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Sarojini Naidu, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and many other leaders made the assembly in awe with their performance. This was followed by a speech from Grade 2 emphasized on values and Gandhian principles, which will encourage students to embody values such as honesty, tolerance, and simplicity.
Students of Grade 3 presented a thought provoking skit that determines the values of Mahatma Gandhi. To add a creative touch, students presented a dance performance followed by the vote of thanks by in charge Indira Menon and the National Anthem.
Several activities and competitions were conducted, like speech competition, Quote Writing Competition and Quiz Competition.
The entire assembly was a wonderful tribute to our Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi and students were imbued with Gandhian values and thoughts. It was a day full of inspiration, reminding us all of the power of simple living and high thinking.
