TRACHERS DAY CARD MAKING ACTIVITY
The primary goal of the Teachers’ Day card-making activity was to celebrate and express gratitude to our teachers. This creative endeavor aimed to engage students in a meaningful, hands-on project that would foster appreciation and respect for the teaching staff.
Overview of the Activity:
· Participants: Students from Grade III to V.
· Duration: One hour
· Materials Used: Construction paper, colored markers, stickers, glitter, glue, scissors, and ribbons.
· Facilitators: Activity coordinator & class teachers.
Activity Description:
Introduction: The activity began with a brief introduction on the importance of Teachers’ Day and the role teachers play in students’ lives. The facilitator shared some inspirational quotes and stories about teachers to set a positive tone.
Card Making: Students had brought various art supplies and were guided on how to create their cards. They were encouraged to write personal messages and decorate their cards with creative designs. The students had the freedom to choose their own themes, which led to a diverse range of designs including floral patterns and abstract art.
Group Collaboration: In some classes, students worked in small groups to create a large card or a collection of smaller cards, fostering teamwork and collaboration. The groups discussed their ideas and helped each other with design and writing, enhancing the overall experience.
Completion and Collection: Once the cards were completed, they were collected, organized and displayed on the soft board of each class respectively.
Outcomes:
Student Engagement: The activity was highly engaging for students, who took great care in personalizing their cards. It provided an opportunity for self-expression and creativity.
