Podar Pearl School students Daksh and Rakshan from Grade 10MA have achieved an outstanding international success. They won a Silver Medal at the International Research Project Olympiad (IRPrO) 2026. Representing Qatar, they presented their innovative research project, NeuroQuant, and competed against talented young researchers from around the world.

Developing the NeuroQuant AI Project

The students developed NeuroQuant, a brain-inspired Artificial Intelligence (AI) compression framework. Modern AI models deliver powerful results. However, they often require significant computing power and energy.

Therefore, the students explored a more efficient approach inspired by neuroscience. Their project is based on a simple idea. Different parts of a neural network do not always need the same level of precision.

Using this concept, the students compressed selected layers more aggressively. At the same time, they worked to maintain the model’s accuracy. As a result, they developed smarter and more efficient AI models without a meaningful loss in performance.

They also tested their approach using a globally recognised benchmark. The benchmark contains more than one million images. This validation strengthened the research behind their NeuroQuant project.

Qualifying for IRPrO 2026 Grand Final

The students submitted their original research to the International Research Project Olympiad (IRPrO) 2026. The Indonesia Scientific Society organised this global science research competition.

IRPrO brings together young researchers from different countries. Professional judges evaluate the research projects through a rigorous selection process.

Following the selection rounds, Daksh and Rakshan qualified for the Grand Final. They represented Podar Pearl School, Qatar as finalists.

This qualification marked an important milestone in their research journey. It also gave them the opportunity to present their work on an international platform.

Representing Qatar in Indonesia

The IRPrO 2026 Grand Final took place in Bandung, Indonesia, from 23 to 26 July 2026. During the competition, the students progressed through three rigorous rounds.

At every stage, they demonstrated strong research skills. They also showed creativity, innovation, dedication, and perseverance.

Their hard work ultimately earned them a Silver Medal at IRPrO 2026. They competed alongside talented students from countries across the world.

These countries included the USA, China, India, Egypt, South Korea, Indonesia, Jordan, Thailand, and many others. Competing on such a diverse international platform made their achievement even more remarkable.

This international achievement reflects the students’ commitment to scientific research and innovation. It also highlights their ability to apply creative thinking to real-world challenges in Artificial Intelligence.

The Silver Medal is a proud moment for Daksh and Rakshan. It is also a significant achievement for Podar Pearl School and Qatar.

Their success demonstrates the potential of young researchers. It also encourages students to explore scientific research and new ideas.

Podar Pearl School proudly congratulates Daksh and Rakshan on this outstanding international achievement. We applaud their dedication, hard work, and passion for research. We wish them continued success in their future academic and research journeys.
