Introduction and Primary Goal: The Round Square Orientation was conducted with the primary objective of familiarizing students from Grades 9 to 12 with the core ideals of Round Square and the numerous national and international opportunities it offers. The session aimed to inspire students to explore their potential beyond academics and become globally-minded individuals.

 Alignment with Pearl School Vision and Mission: This orientation aligns with Pearl School’s vision to develop a purposeful and resilient institution that meets the aspirations of students, parents, and staff. It reinforces the mission by fostering resilience, academic excellence, and holistic development through international exposure, leadership opportunities, and service-based learning. The session reflected the values of integrity, respect, care, and global citizenship.

 Activity Description:

  • Introduction: The session began with a welcome address by Principal Dr. Maneesh Mangal, who emphasized the importance of holistic education and the role of Round Square in shaping future-ready learners.
  • Description: Dr. Pooja Singh introduced the six Round Square IDEALS  (Internationalism, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service). She discussed how each ideal integrates into school activities and student development.

Ms. Neethu Panicker elaborated on the student involvement process, ongoing projects, and  how students can actively participate in national and international Round Square events.

A highlight of the session was an informative address by Mr. Adarsh M Nair, who provided insights into the upcoming Round Square International Conference 2025 in Dubai, including its theme, agenda, and the expected benefits for participating students.

 

  • Group Collaboration: Students engaged in brief interactive segments, including a Q&A and group discussions on how they can contribute to and benefit from Round Square initiatives.
  • Completion and Collection: Interested students were encouraged to register for upcoming Round Square activities. Reflections were collected informally through feedback conversations with teachers.

 Outcomes:

  • Student Engagement: Students showed keen interest and enthusiasm. Many expressed curiosity about the international conference and how they could become more involved.
  • Community Building (Qatar Values and Identity): The orientation promoted values such as respect, unity, and social responsibility, which are core to both the Round Square framework and Qatari identity. It encouraged students to serve and lead with cultural awareness and empathy.

  • Students: Students found the session inspiring and informative. They appreciated the exposure to global opportunities and the encouragement to take on leadership roles.
  • Teachers: Teachers observed high levels of student attentiveness and praised the relevance and clarity of the presentations.
