Pearl School, Al Dafna Campus, successfully conducted a series of Arabic and Islamic competitions under the theme “Light of Guidance 2026–2027” on 13 and 14 September 2026. The programme gave students from Grades 1 to 8 a platform to showcase their talents. It also helped them strengthen their Islamic knowledge, Arabic language skills, creativity, communication, and confidence.
The competitions included Arabic Calligraphy, Arabic Nasheed, Elocution, Essay Writing, and Adhan Recitation. Through Arabic Calligraphy, students explored Islamic words and meaningful phrases. Meanwhile, the Arabic Nasheed competition focused on the life and qualities of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Students also took part in an Elocution competition on “Mercy for All the Worlds.” In addition, they participated in an Essay Writing Competition on “The Power of Patience and Gratitude in Islam.” The Adhan Recitation Competition further encouraged students to develop confidence, expression, and devotion.
The programme aimed to promote Islamic values and knowledge. It also enhanced students’ Arabic language and communication skills. Furthermore, it encouraged creativity, confidence, and presentation skills. Most importantly, it provided students with a meaningful platform to showcase their talents.
The “Light of Guidance 2026-2027” programme also aligns with the Human Development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030. This pillar focuses on developing a skilled, capable, innovative, and educated population. In addition, the programme supports the Social Development pillar. It promotes strong moral values, mutual respect, social responsibility, cultural heritage, and community cohesion.
The competitions also supported several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They contributed to SDG 4 – Quality Education by strengthening students’ knowledge, literacy, communication, creativity, and lifelong learning skills.
Similarly, the programme supported SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. It encouraged compassion, respect, tolerance, peaceful values, and responsible citizenship. Furthermore, SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals was reflected through collaboration among the Arabic and Islamic Studies Department, teachers, students, and the wider school community.
Overall, the “Light of Guidance 2026–2027” competitions provided students with a meaningful learning experience. The programme reflected the department’s continued efforts to nurture student talent.
