Podar Pearl School proudly participated in the 8th edition of DPS DQ-MUN, held from 24 to 26 September 2026. The conference brought together 09 schools, 08 committees, and more than 259 delegates. This year’s theme was “Justice Beyond Borders: Building Equal Societies Through Strong Institutions.” The theme encouraged students to understand the United Nations and explore solutions for a better world.

The event also aligned with the vision and mission of Podar Pearl School. It encouraged students to become resilient and future-ready learners. Moreover, it helped them express their views confidently on global platforms. In addition, the conference nurtured the spirit of global citizenship. It also reflected the Round Square ideal of “Adopt, Adapt, Improve” through collaboration and the exchange of ideas.

Six students represented Podar Pearl School in various committees, including GA1, GA2, WHO, UNW, and UNHRC. The delegation comprised Dhruva Roshan Balija Mahesh, Niranjan Sunil Kumar, Daniel Jerry Mathew, Razeen Backer Kandiyoth, Athica Mariyam from Grade 10, and Avanith Parakkadavu from Grade 12. Meanwhile, Ms. Zeenat Khan, MUN Director, Podar Pearl School, Doha, guided the students throughout the conference.

The opening ceremony featured Ms. Amina Hassan, Former THIMUN Conference Specialist, as the Chief Guest and keynote speaker. She spoke about peace, leadership, unity, and global harmony. Furthermore, Ms. Asana Nafees, Academic Advisor, DPS Group of Schools, welcomed the participating teams.

During the conference, students took part in opening speeches, lobbying, moderated caucuses, and unmoderated caucuses. They presented their views and explored different perspectives. In addition, they worked together to draft resolutions. As a result, students strengthened their communication, negotiation, leadership, and critical-thinking skills.

On the final day, students continued with debates, deliberations, press conferences, and committee sessions. Subsequently, the closing ceremony recognised the efforts of the participants and organising team. Mr. Yasir Nainar, President, DPS, and Ms. Soma Bhattacharjee, Principal, appreciated the team for successfully conducting the international event.

The Podar Pearl School delegation also achieved notable recognition. Daniel Jerry Mathew, representing Pakistan in the GA4 Committee, received the “Best Delegate” award. Similarly, Niranjan Sunil Kumar, representing Zambia in the UNHRC Committee, received a “Special Mention” for his performance. Furthermore, all participants received appreciation for their active involvement.

In addition, the conference gave students an opportunity to exchange ideas with delegates from nine schools across Qatar. Through this experience, they developed greater confidence and gained valuable insights into diplomacy, global issues, and collaborative problem-solving. Moreover, the event encouraged inclusive discussions and respectful dialogue.

Overall, DPS DQ-MUN 2026 provided a meaningful learning experience beyond the classroom. Through debate, collaboration, and diplomacy, our students developed valuable skills for the future. Most importantly, the conference encouraged them to listen, question, collaborate, and communicate with confidence. Therefore, such platforms continue to help Podar Pearl School nurture responsible and globally aware young learners.
