The Grade 8 students of Pearl School, Al Dafna Campus, attended an engaging Engineering Awareness Program at the Itqan Simulation and Innovation Centre. Accompanied by Ms. Deepthy from the Department of Computer Science and Ms. Aruna from the Department of Robotics, the students explored the role of engineering in healthcare facilities and learned about a range of educational and career opportunities.

The Engineering and Healthcare Facilities Department of Hamad Medical Corporation organised the programme to introduce students to the growing role of engineering in healthcare. During the visit, students learned about admission requirements, engineering courses and scholarship opportunities at Qatar University and the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST). In addition, they explored different career pathways within the healthcare sector, including medicine, nursing, dentistry, healthcare administration and HR.

Moreover, the students interacted with professors, university staff and student representatives. These conversations gave them valuable first-hand insights into university life, academic courses and future career opportunities. The students also took part in hands-on activities, simulations and interactive challenges. As a result, they could connect their classroom learning with practical, real-world applications.

Overall, the Engineering Awareness Program provided the students with an informative and enriching learning experience. It broadened their understanding of engineering, healthcare and STEM-related careers while encouraging them to explore different academic pathways. Furthermore, the visit offered meaningful exposure beyond the classroom and supported the school’s efforts to promote STEM learning, career awareness and informed future academic choices.
