Pearl School, Al Dafna Campus, celebrated Reading Week on 22nd June 2026 with a meaningful Parent Volunteer Programme that brought parents into classrooms to inspire students through the joy of reading.

As part of the Reading Week celebrations, parent volunteers engaged students in a variety of interactive reading activities. To begin with, parents spoke to students about the importance of reading and how books can help children learn, imagine and explore new ideas. Their simple and inspiring messages encouraged students to develop a positive attitude towards reading.

The programme also featured interactive storybook reading sessions, where parents brought stories to life through expressive narration and engaging interactions. As a result, students listened with enthusiasm, shared their thoughts and actively participated in the sessions.

A special “Tell a Tale” session added another memorable element to the Reading Week celebrations. Parents shared stories from their childhood and culture, giving students an opportunity to discover different experiences, traditions and perspectives. Moreover, these personal stories encouraged children to listen carefully, imagine creatively and connect with the stories on a deeper level.

The presence of parents made the classrooms lively, warm and engaging. At the same time, the programme showed students that reading can be both enjoyable and meaningful.

The Parent Volunteer Programme also strengthened the partnership between parents and the school. Ultimately, the Reading Week celebration reminded everyone that when families and schools come together, learning becomes more engaging, joyful and memorable.
