The Mothers Day Celebration at Podar Pearl School, Al Meshaf Campus was a heartfelt occasion. It gave students an opportunity to celebrate the unconditional love, care, and sacrifices of mothers. Through creative activities, performances, and thoughtful gifts, students expressed their love and gratitude.
A Special Mother’s Day Assembly
Students of Grade 2 MA presented a special assembly dedicated to Mother’s Day. They showcased their talents through heartfelt speeches, beautiful poems, and a vibrant dance performance. Each presentation reflected love, respect, and gratitude towards mothers. The students performed with confidence and enthusiasm.
Creative Gifts for Mothers
Students of Grades 1 and 2 celebrated the special bond between mothers and children through a creative gift-making activity. The young learners prepared handmade presents with great enthusiasm and love. Grade 1 students created colourful flower bouquets. Meanwhile, Grade 2 students designed special paper bags. They decorated the bags with messages of love and appreciation. The children used their creativity to transform simple craft materials into meaningful gifts. Moreover, their personal effort made every present unique and special.
Expressing Love Through Words
The Mother’s Day Speaking Activity for Grades 3 to 5 was conducted. The session encouraged students to express their love and gratitude. At the same time, it helped them develop their speaking and communication skills. Grade 4 and Grade 5 students delivered short speeches about their mothers. In addition, Grade 3 students described their mothers using a single word.
Connecting Learning with the SDGs
The Mother’s Day speaking activity also supported several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
It promoted SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by encouraging emotional expression and confidence. Furthermore, the activity aligned with SDG 4: Quality Education. Students strengthened their communication skills through meaningful classroom learning. They also developed creativity while expressing their thoughts.
The activity connected with SDG 5: Gender Equality as well. Students learned to recognise and appreciate the important role mothers play in families and society.
Tokens of Love for Mom
Students of Grades 6 to 8 participated in a special activity titled “Tokens of Love for Mom.” The activity encouraged students to express their love and appreciation through a creative task. Each student prepared a mini gift pouch. They then filled it with special “love tokens.” On these tokens, students wrote five things they admired or loved about their mothers. They also wrote five promises they wished to make to their mothers. This activity encouraged students to reflect on the qualities they value most.
Students enthusiastically decorated their gift pouches with colourful craft materials. They carefully designed each pouch and prepared heartfelt messages. The activity therefore combined creativity with emotional expression. It also helped students understand that meaningful gifts do not need to be expensive. Instead, thought, effort, and love make a gift truly special.
