During World Glaucoma Week (8–14 March 2026), Pearl School proudly joined a student-led awareness initiative by the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH). This global campaign highlights the importance of early detection, and our students participated with great enthusiasm.
Grade 5 students engaged in creative activities such as eye-themed drawings, coloring, and structured worksheets on eye health. Through these tasks, they explored the importance of healthy vision habits in an interactive way. In addition, they attended an awareness session where they learned about glaucoma risks, prevention, and the need for regular eye check-ups. As a result, students developed a strong understanding of eye care from an early age.
The Ministry of Public Health also announced a special prize for the most creative submissions. We are proud to share that Pearl School, Al Dafna, ranked among the three winning schools and received an educational eye model. This achievement reflects the creativity and effort of our students.
Our school nurse, Ms. Devika S., also received an Appreciation Certificate from MOPH for her excellent program implementation during the Vision Screening Program visit. Overall, World Glaucoma Week at Pearl School successfully raised awareness and encouraged lifelong eye health practices.
