Kerala Piravi Celebration at Pearl School, Al Dafna Campus

The Kerala Piravi Celebration at Pearl School, Al Dafna Campus, took place on 11 November 2025 with great enthusiasm and cultural pride. The programme beautifully showcased the heritage, art forms, and vibrant traditions of Kerala. Students participated wholeheartedly, and as a result, the event became both meaningful and engaging.

To begin the celebration, Farzeen Faheem (6WA) recited a soulful Arabic prayer that set a peaceful tone for the day. Soon after, Elsa and Shaniya (7WA) stepped in as comperes and guided the programme smoothly. Additionally, Aaradhya (7WA) welcomed the gathering warmly, helping everyone feel included and connected to the occasion. Consequently, the audience was prepared for an exciting cultural journey.

Showcasing Kerala’s Cultural Treasures

The event moved forward with an impressive Kalarippayattu demonstration by Shradha (5WC) and Pranav (7WA). Their performance introduced the audience to Kerala’s ancient martial art in a powerful and engaging way.
Furthermore, the celebration continued with a graceful Kerala dance by Srushti Swaroop (3WB), which highlighted the artistic beauty of Kerala.

Moreover, students from Grades 5 to 8 presented a melodious group song that filled the venue with harmony and cultural spirit. Shortly after, Grade 3 and 4 students performed a charming Oppana dance, adding elegance and authenticity to the morning.

Meanwhile, Aryan Krishnakumar (5WD) captivated the audience with an energetic Ottanthullal performance. His expressive storytelling and rhythmic movements added traditional charm and kept the momentum alive.

Celebrating Literature and Talent

In addition, students from Grades 5 to 7 showcased an engaging Poetry Visualization activity. Their expressive narration and gestures helped the audience appreciate the depth and beauty of Malayalam literature.
Later, one of the most anticipated segments—the Malayali Manka & Kerala Sreeman competition—brought vibrant energy to the stage. Participants from Grades 1 to 8 walked the ramp in traditional attire, proudly displaying Kerala’s cultural identity. Consequently, their confidence and poise added festive grandeur to the programme.

Esteemed dignitaries attended the celebration, including:
Mr. C. Muhammed Nizar (President), Ms. Steffy Rachel Sam (Vice President), Ms. Mizna Nizar, and Ms. Bindhu Pradeep (Board of Directors). Their presence added significance and encouragement for the young performers.

After the assembly, Ms. Bindhu Pradeep inaugurated the Malayalam Exhibition. The Malayalam Department displayed a wide variety of traditional elements such as literary works, costumes, artefacts, utensils, and cultural items representing Kerala’s heritage. Moreover, the exhibition allowed students to deepen their understanding of Kerala’s traditions through meaningful exploration.

The programme was prepared by the Malayalam Department under the leadership of Ms. Sindhu, with support from Ms. Rani Mol and Ms. Soumya Mohan. Their dedicated efforts ensured a well-coordinated and impactful celebration.

Overall, the Kerala Piravi Celebration became a memorable tribute to Kerala’s cultural richness. Through each performance and activity, students developed a deeper appreciation for Kerala’s values and traditions. Ultimately, the event strengthened cultural understanding and created a meaningful connection to Kerala’s legacy.
