Pearl School, Al Dafna Campus organized a variety of engaging activities for students of Grades 5 to 8 in connection with World Environment Day on Monday, 2nd June 2025, based on the global theme, “Ending Plastic Pollution.” The event aimed to raise awareness among students about the harmful impact of plastic waste and to promote eco-friendly habits within the school community. Activities were conducted during the activity period and were thoughtfully tailored to each grade level to ensure meaningful participation.

Students of Grades 5 and 6 took part in a creative session where they designed and crafted eco-friendly products using recycled materials. This hands-on activity not only fostered innovation but also highlighted the importance of recycling and repurposing to reduce plastic waste. Meanwhile, students of Grades 7 and 8 showcased their creativity by developing impactful slogans for the school’s Plastic-Free Campaign. These slogans, aimed at promoting awareness about reducing plastic usage, were displayed around the campus to inspire both peers and staff.

Adding to the significance of the day, students from Grades 7 and 8 also led the launch of a student-driven Plastic-Free Campus campaign. Through this initiative, students took on leadership roles in advocating for sustainable practices and minimizing the use of single-use plastics within the school environment.

In addition to the class-wise activities, an Inter-House Environmental Quiz Competition was held to further enhance awareness in an interactive and collaborative way. Two students each from the Aryabhata, Einstein, Tagore, and Kalam Houses participated in the quiz. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation and showcased the students’ knowledge of environmental issues. Kalam House emerged as the winner, followed by Einstein House in second place, while Aryabhata and Tagore Houses shared the third position.

These activities provided students with the opportunity to reflect on their role in protecting the planet and empowered them to take positive action for a sustainable future. Pearl School remains committed to nurturing responsible global citizens through ongoing environmental education and awareness programs.
