On April 22nd, 2025, the students of Grade V MA and MC at Podar Pearl School held a special assembly to celebrate Earth Day. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental protection and promote sustainable habits among students. Held in the school auditorium, the assembly began at 7:10 AM and lasted for 50 minutes. Students gathered in an organized manner, and the event was smoothly hosted by selected students from the participating grades. The program included a heartfelt Quran recitation, the singing of both the Qatar and Indian national anthems, and the Indian pledge, all of which filled the atmosphere with unity and pride. Students recited the school prayer and the school’s vision and mission statements, emphasizing values like academic excellence and ethical growth. A thought for the day, based on a quote by Carl Sagan, reminded everyone of the importance of protecting our planet. The theme of the event was aligned with the Round Square IDEALS, focusing on ‘Environmentalism’. Special segments included a skit, dance, and song that encouraged eco-friendly habits and unity in environmental efforts. The School Development Head shared an inspiring message, urging everyone to be the change for a better world. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from a student, reinforcing values of kindness and responsibility. Students were actively engaged throughout, and the assembly strengthened community spirit while reflecting Qatari values. The slogan “Bullying is weakness, kindness is strength” was highlighted during the assembly to promote positive behavior and empathy among students. Both students and teachers appreciated the informative and well-executed event, highlighting the teamwork and leadership shown by the young participants.
